Description<\/h2>\n

Thermal spray coating systems melt or soften feedstock material, in the form of wire or powder, by flame or electricity and propel the resultant material onto a workpiece. Thermal spray coatings are broadly used to protect new, or salvage used, downhole tool, industrial components and polymer processing components. These are highly versatile coatings that are rapidly applied with low heat input and can be utilized across a broad range of components.<\/p>\n

Thermal spray coatings allow for modification of the surface layer of a workpiece while preserving the mechanical properties of the base material. Kymera has extensive experience operating twin wire arc, plasma, combustion, HVOF and Kymera\u2019s proprietary Ultra High Density ID HVOF\u2122 application systems designed to solve our clients most challenging wear and corrosion problems.<\/p>\n

Types of Thermal Spray Coatings<\/h2>\n

High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF)<\/strong><\/a>
\nHVOF is a thermal spray process that uses oxygen and a combustible fuel to produce a low heat, high density, mechanically bonded coating that has extremely low porosity and high bond strength.<\/p>\n

HaloJet ID HVOF<\/strong><\/a>
\nHaloJet is a thermal spray process that uses oxygen and a combustible fuel to produce a low heat, high density, mechanically bonded coating with extremely low porosity and high bond strength.<\/p>\n

Twin Wire Arc<\/a>
\n<\/strong>In the arc spray process, an arc is struck between two continuously fed alloy wires are causing the tips of the wires to melt. An air jet atomizing gas is used to strip the molten material off the wires and accelerate the motel particles to the workpiece.<\/p>\n

Plasma<\/strong><\/a>
\nThe plasma spray process involves injecting a thermal spray material into a plasma jet then passed through an electric arc and finally propelled onto the substrate material, rapidly cooling to form a high quality dense coating.<\/p>\n

Combustion<\/strong><\/a>
